Are You Ready To....?

Design a Successful Learning Environment?

From ideal furniture, storage, and lighting to supplies, materials and organization, the learning environment sets the tone for success!

Let's plan, organize and prepare your home efficiently, together.

Discover Your Child's Learning Style?

As you transition from your previous school setting to homeschooling, spend time "unschooling" or "de-schooling".

This means observe, explore and listen to your child. Notice what gets them excited and what is uncomfortable. Discover which method your child relies on while taking in information and how they prefer to share information.

Use this time to also realize your preferred learning style. Is it different than your child's?

I can help you identify the best learning and assessment styles for your child so that your teaching experiences are the most compatible for both of you.

Recognize Your Child's Brain Compatible Needs?

Not all children think the same way. Learning to identify and provide instruction and experiences to support your child's cognitive function is important.

Brain compatible needs differ from learning style because attention is given to the speed, depth,  and developmental age of your child's brain. It's about how, not what, the brain can process.

This isn't necessarily a medical diagnosis. I can provide strategies, tips and resources to enhance your lesson delivery.

Provide Mindset Development?

Mindset development can be instilled at a very young age. Understanding the strategies to achieve a positive, "Growth Mindset" and to recognize the need to shift from a "Fixed Mindset" promotes confidence, problem solving skills, and independence.

Games, physical activities, and other challenges are just a few ways I can show you how to develop your child's healthy mindset.

Prioritize Social Emotional Learning Habits?

Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and social awareness.

SEL strategies help to form our self identity as we interact with others through collaboration, expressing emotions, and our responses in the moment.

Through a variety of personal exercises, I can help your family reframe thoughts and phrases to boost your social emotional awareness.

Hi, I'm Cindy Brown!

I founded Polished Parents, in 2020, following a 30+ year career as a public educator. I specialize in the social emotional needs of families with Gifted, Talented, and Twice Exceptional (2E) children. As a certified Social Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) Parent Group Facilitator, I love offering a series of collaborative parent discussion groups each semester. Additionally, I serves as a Program Supervisor for the Teacher in Residence Program and Rio Salado College.

I am actively involved in serving my community, supporting numerous family based organizations and nonprofits. I am an active member of the Junior League of Phoenix as an internal leader, served on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented, and Chair the statewide Parents Institute Conference.

What Parents are Saying

Cindy is the perfect blend of educator and parent. She understands how the mindset of my child changes throughout the course of their day.

-Stephanie, Mother of 4

While I was familiar with the mindset material before, I had never thought of applying it to my own life— so this has helped me a lot personally; especially with catching myself "filling in the story" with negative thoughts.

-Emily, Mother of 2

Cindy has such an incredible heart for families. I've had the pleasure of interviewing her over 3 times, and got to learn so much about what is missing in parenting, how her family mindset coaching fills the gap, and what's possible when her resources are applied.

-Charlie, Father of 2

I am impressed by the content and find it very useful. I enjoy getting and approaching each week's topics. The content is useful for bringing additional meaningful moments to our family conversations and interactions.

-Sarah, Mother of 2
