Parents, It's Time to Reset Your Emotions & Be Stress-Free

Parents, It's Time to Reset Your Emotions & Be Stress-Free

Overwhelmed? I reset my emotions and NOW feel STRESS-FREE!

How are you feeling?  By the end of each week, I was feeling:

  • Overwhelmed Caring for Others
  • Mentally and Physically Exhausted
  • Stressed
  • Unmotivated

Can you relate? I had been going full force for so long, I fell into routines that started to feel more like checked boxes rather than fulfillment or joy.

I had to flip these emotions!

I dedicate 10 Days to myself to RESET and nourish my own mental health.

Here are my 3 daily commitments to returning to fulfillment and joy.

Meditation - I started my day sitting alone in a quiet space. I simply sat and let my mind wander. I like to refer to this mental exploration as a DOWNLOAD, meaning the things I was overwhelmed or stressed about, I was able to recognize solutions or strategies to release those thoughts and emotions. A few times I listened to a guided mediation to help keep me focused. I would sit anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes, depending on the day.

Journaling - My writing included gratitudes for specific people, experiences, clarifying thoughts and new ideas. Next, I would write out in a question form the areas which brought on my overwhelm or stress. For instance, when I worried about commitments of being in 2 places at the same time, my questions became, "Who can help me in this situation? Is it possible to be apart of both commitments or can I be apart of it in a different way?" Sometimes my questions where about people I care about and how I can support them. For me, journaling became the key to my DOWNLOADS while meditating. That's where the questions started to have answers. Journaling also put my concerns on paper and out of my thoughts, which freed me to enjoy living in the moment.

Movement - Walking, weight training, gardening, water sports, yoga or whatever you enjoy. I suggest a minimum of 20 minutes, but you can move as long as you like! When possible, I prefer to be outside to feel the sun and take in the fresh air. Movement helps to strengthen the mind-body bond, relieves the body of stress, boosts energy levels, promotes better sleep and can serve as a motivator for self-care.

I was able to meditate and journal first thing each day. I had to plan the movement for later in the day, but I committed to all 3 actions for 10 consecutive days.

Now, a full week after my 10 day reset, I still meditate daily in morning, I journal approximately every other day and continue to get in a minimum of 20 minutes of movement daily, but strive for 60 minutes often. I feel more present, relaxed and able to fully participate with the people and activities which bring me joy.

It's important to put your mental health first, so you are fully available to support your family.
